| I was given a task of increasing staff
output in a retail organisation and my first priority was to define
expected outcomes so that everyone in the organisation understood
where their efforts should be directed.
I discovered every person within the team had their own approach to generating new ideas so I focused on areas where creative solutions were needed instead of wasting time on areas that generate little or no return to the individual or organisation. To minimise fear of failure, I instigated certain
steps allowing staff to regard mistakes as learning opportunities
and created a reward scheme for employees who take prudent risks. |
