During a project, within an educational organisation,
I was responsible for laying on events, encouraging schools to
use film broadcasting as an educational tool, used to instruct
students alongside their existing curriculum reading material.
One sector within education, which had been marginalised
by this organisation, was special needs and disadvantaged schools.
I focused my attention on communication, the most time-consuming
activity and the one most critical to success; by helping this
organisation and its partners dramatically increase productivity,
achieve intended results, and present the appropriate image to
both regional schools and local media outlets.
By creating relationships with special needs and disadvantaged
schools, the organisation would be seen, as a forward thinking
and assertive company, willing to address the economic, and social
issues faced by a minority of schools, in favour of creative opportunities,
but lacking the facilities and required help to take advantage
of the service.
Having displayed relationship and customer building skills, I
was instrumental in creating partnerships with local media outlets,
transport and hospitality firms, who, in turn, worked together
with the schools to successful perform film showcases for those
disadvantaged schools.
